Samsung NP S3510, S3511, R522, R540, R580, E352, X520 Screen Replacement

Some people see a laptop with broken screen as the end of it and one for which they would rather not part with a penny repairing more than they think necessary. In this blog my aim is to let the world know that a cracked or flickering laptop screen can be fixed by replacing the defective one with a new screen display panel.

In this tutorial you will learn how to dismantle and change a cracked LCD screen on Samsung NP S3511, S3511, R522, R540, R580, E352, X520 laptop notebooks. The Samsung NP-R540, R580, X520, E352, S3511, S3511, R509, R522 laptops come with 15.6 inch TFT LED widescreen with aspect ratio of 16:9 and resolution of 1366 x 768.

The most important thing in the process is to have the right replacement screen with you before starting the screen repair.

Below are reasons why you will need a new screen in your Samsung laptop;

  • Samsung laptop is dropped by accident and the screen is cracked
  • Laptop is flickering when the lid is moved up and down (This may also be as a result of damaged screen cable)
  • Laptop notebook is dark or black
  • Samsung laptop has lines in sort of green, pink, blue and white
  • Internal bleed of LCD screen

Like every laptop repair procedure it is important to remove the laptop battery before disassembling the laptop.

Remove the screw-covers from the front of the screen. This is where you will find the screws holding the front plastic to the laptop.

Unscrew all the screws after removing the covers and keep them aside.

Next will be to put your fingers between the screen and the plastic bezel and start pulling on all sides.

Pull on all sides until the bezel starts releasing from its catches. This pull must be done firmly but with care to avoid snapping the plastic.

Now that the internal part is exposed pull the screen slightly towards you and remove all side screws from the brackets.

Place the screen face-down as in the image on the left. Now you will be able to see the display cable and the screen part number.

Part numbers like LTN156AT02, LTN156AT05, LTN156AT09, LTN156AT15, B156XW02, LP156WH2, BT156GW01 or N156B6 is likely be on the sticker on the back of the screen. These numbers can also be used to order the screen from any seller. The mentioned laptop screens are very much compatible and interchangeable.

The last thing to do to remove the broken screen is to disconnect the display cable. NOTE THAT THE CONNECTION IS HELD TOGETHER WITH A CLEAR TAPE. Peel up the clear tape before disconnecting.

At this point you would have successfully removed the Samsung laptop screen and ready to fit a new one. Continue the process in reverse to install a new screen.
